About
AncientChess.com is a Sarasota-based chess retailer focused on the history and evolution of chess across cultures and centuries. The shop carries chess products across multiple categories: international sets, Asian variants, reproductions, rare pieces, and other games. Beyond standard chess, they stock instruction and equipment for Shogi, Xiangqi, Makruk, Courier Chess, Sittuyin, Shatranj, Janggi, Shatar, Dou Shou Qi, Luzhanqi, and their own variant, SHUURO. The business publishes chess literature, including the book L'Odyssee des Jeux d'Echecs, and offers signed copies. They provide free downloads and maintain a website documenting chess history spanning 1500 years.
