About

Ca' d'Zan is the winter home built by circus magnate John Ringling and his wife Mable. Completed in 1926 after two years of construction, the mansion spans 36,000 square feet across 56 rooms. Architect Dwight James Baum designed the estate, with Mable Ringling directing all design elements throughout the project. Once finished, Ca' d'Zan became a social hub in Sarasota's early cultural life. Today it stands as part of the Ringling complex in Sarasota, where admission grants access to the mansion itself along with the Museum of Art, Circus Museum, and Bayfront Gardens. The house offers a window into the tastes and scale of early 20th century wealth in Florida.
